Pirates and Arrows share the spoils in stalemate
Orlando Pirates were held to a 0-0 draw by Golden Arrows in their DStv Premiership clash at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night.
Both sides were looking happy to knock the ball around in the opening minutes.
As the first half wore on, it was the Soweto giants attacking and Arrows scrambling to get back.
Bucs continued to look to be the brighter team, as the visitors gave the ball away too easily.
However, the KwaZulu-Natal club needed a bit of magic to shake things up and take command of the contest.
Unfortunately, Lehlohonolo Seema’s side couldn’t create much when they were in control of the match but they frightened the life out of the hosts late in the first period.
The showdown went into the half-time break goalless.
In the second stanza, Pirates had chances to put the game to bed, but luck was not on their side.
Abafana Bes’thende, on the other hand, had offered little threat in front of Pirates’ goals.
The Happy People never stopped bossing possession and getting into dangerous areas – seeking to break the deadlock.
As the clock ticked towards 90 minutes, the Sea Robbers nearly found the breakthrough when Terrence Dzvukamanja played the ball nicely for Kabelo Dlamini, who was unable to keep his shot down.
In the end, Pirates and Arrows were left to rue missed chances in a goalless draw.
