Former Marumo coach joins Mozambique giants
Belgian coach Jean-Francois Losciuto, who quit as an assistant at Marumo Gallants in September last year, has now been appointed as head coach of Mozambique giants Ferroviario de Maputo.
Losciuto joins the 10-times Mocambola Champions on a one-year deal.
The former Richards Bay and Black Leopards coach will be assisted by former Orlando Pirates and Golden Arrows defender Carlos Baute.
Former Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Steven Hoffman is always with the club.
“This club has won more league titles in the history of Mozambique so the goal is to rebuild the club since it has been a long time since they have not won anything,” Losciuto told FARPost.
“We will work this year and see if we can extend for a second season or more, after that we will challenge for the league. Now it will be a bit difficult because we need to rebuild everything but we have a good team and we have the belief,” he said.
Meanwhile, former Cape Town City defender Edmilson Dove has been training with the same club to keep fit as he looks to secure his next move, with his next destination likely to be in South Africa.
