Sekhukhune, Maritzburg settle for a draw
Sekhukhune United drew 1-1 with Maritzburg United on Wednesday night in the DStv Premiership encounter at Emirates Airline Park Stadium.
Babina Noko started the match under the rain on the front foot and found the back of the net as early as the first minute of the showdown through Roderick Kabwe.
The goal sparked the match into life, forcing the visitors to attack.
Two minutes before the half-time break Keegan Ritchie levelled matters with a beautiful strike.
After the first half of intense pressure from the Team of Choice and attritional defending from the home side, the showpiece went into the interval with a 1-all scoreline.
A low-quality second half saw both sides struggling to create chances in the opening exchanges.
However, the game opened up as the second stanza progressed.
The final whistle blew, and nothing could separate both teams as they played out to a 1-all draw.
The result moves Sekhukhune up to the eighth place with 29 points on the log standings, while the Blue Army are down in 12th position with 22 points.
