Pirates won’t rest on their laurels

Orlando Pirates coach Mandla Ncikazi insist they will play their strongest side when they face Al-Ittihad in their last Caf confederations cup Group B match despite having already qualified for the knockout stages.

Pirates won 2-0 away to Algerian club JS Saoura on Sunday to remain top of the group with a match remaining.

They will take on Libyan club Al-Ittihad in their last group match during the first week of April.

Al-Ittihad needs at least a draw to confirm their qualification, while a win will see them leapfrog the Buccaneers to go top of their group.

“We are a professional side. We are going to play Al-Ittihad and play to win,” said Ncikazi.

“We are going to put our strong side so that we win the match, to us all matches are played to win. So, it is not going to be an easy match but we are going to play our best team against Al-Ittihad and play to win.”
