Gareth Bale is expected to be fit for Thursday’s World Cup playoff against Austria despite his injury.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti revealed that the 32-year-old footballer missed Sunday’s El Clasico which Barcelona won 4-0 because he wasn’t feeling well.
The winger is reported to have suffered back pain.
Bale only played two games for Real since his last international appearance in November 2021.
“He tried this morning but he wasn’t up to playing,” Ancelloti said on Sunday.
“He’s now going to join up with his national team and they’ll decide whether he plays or not.”
Wales will lock horns with Austria on Thursday, 24 March at Cardiff City Stadium.
