Champions League and Confed Cup quarterfinalists
Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates will find out who their quarterfinal opponents are when the Caf Champions League and Caf Confederations Cup draws are conducted on Tuesday (15:00) in Cairo.
Both South African sides finished winners of their respective groups.
The four group winners will be seeded and the four group runners-up unseeded.
The Tshwane giants, who are unbeaten in the Champions League this season amassed 16 points and beat title holders Al Ahly home and away to finish top of Group A.
Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly joined Sundowns, Raja AC, Esperance, Wydad AC, ES Setif, CR Belouizdad and Petro de Luanda in the last eight following their 1-0 win over Al Hilal on Sunday evening at the Al Salam Stadium.
In the Confed Cup, Pirates, Group B winners had a good campaign with four wins, one draw and one loss. They played out to a goalless draw in their final group stage encounter against Al Ittihad at Orlando Stadium on Sunday evening.
The Soweto giants are joined by Al Ahli Tripoli, TP Mazembe, RS Berkane, Pyramids, Al Ittihad, Al Masry and Simba in the quarterfinals.
