We have to remain stronger for the players – Thobejane
Baroka head coach Kgoloko Thobejane wants the rest of his technical; staff to remain focused and strong despite the relegation challenges the club faces.
Bakgaga are left with six matches to try and save their DStv Premiership status after seven years in the top flight.
But before they resume their league programme next week, Bakgaga will take on neighbours Marumo Gallants in the quarterfinals of the Nedbank Cup on Saturday at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Thobejane insists the team remain optimistic despite the poor results.
“Looking at the players, they don’t have a problem because as coaches, we are not being hard on them,” said Thobejane.
“We are not instilling negative energy on them; we are being very positive towards them. Even after yesterday’s game, we tried to encourage and motivate them that they were still in the game. Let’s go all out; let’s fight.
“They are ready; they are not afraid. They are strong, and we as the technical team have to be stronger to support and encourage them and show them the way. If we as the technical team get lost and confused, that’s where our players will have a problem,” he said.
Thobejane has also commended the team management for the continuous support.
“With the management, the situation is conducive; they support us with everything, words, whatever. They are with us. We are together in this situation.”
