MM Platinum crowned Gauteng ABC League champions
MM Platinum (La Masia) won the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League ticket to represent the province at the national play-offs for a spot in the National First Division.
On Saturday afternoon, La Masia edged African All-Stars 2-1 on aggregate in the provincial playoffs.
Both sides came into this game having played out to a goalless draw in the first leg last weekend.
Swallows head coach Dylan Kerr, former Bafana Bafana defender Matthew Booth and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Keegan Dolly were among the people who graced the final leg of the provincial playoffs tie with their presence.
Dolly used to play for La Masia back in the days.
The side becomes the second team to qualify for the national playoffs, joining the KwaZulu-Natal outfit Summerfield Dynamos. On Saturday evening, the Clinton Larsen-coached Dynamos suffered a 5-0 defeat to the high flying Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup quarter-final clash.
