Liverpool contract delay not only about money, says Salah
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has stated that contract negotiations with the club are not merely about money.
The Egyptian international also admitted that he doesn’t know where his long-term future lies.
Salah’s contract at Liverpool is set to expire in 2023 and there are rumours speculation about his future amid no agreement over a new deal despite ongoing talks with the Reds.
The 29-year-old has netted 155 goals in 245 appearances for Liverpool and won several trophies including the Uefa Champions League and Premier League titles.
He has in the past, insisted that he wants to stay at Liverpool and whether that happens or not, it is up to the club.
When asked if he was confident about remaining a Liverpool player in the long-term Salah said: “I don’t know, I have one year left.”
“I think the fans know what I want, but in the contract, it’s not everything about the money at all. So, I don’t know, I can’t tell you exactly. I have one year left and the fans know what I want,” added Salah in an interview with FourFourTwo.
The talented attacker added: “This club means a lot to me – I’ve enjoyed my football here more than anywhere; I gave the club everything and everybody saw that.
“I’ve had a lot of unbelievable moments here, winning trophies, individual goals, individual trophies. It’s like a family here.”
