Truter urges Usuthu strikers to step up

AmaZulu interim coach Brandon Truter says it’s time for Andre De Jong and Siphelele Mthembu to start delivering and banging goals to finish the season strong and in a better position with four games left this season. The club is seventh in the DStv Premiership table.

Usuthu are currently facing an injury crisis in the striking department, with the trio of Augustine Mulenga, Bonginkosi Ntuli, and Lehlohonolo Majoro ruled out for the rest of the season.

“They must step up to the plate. Andre is doing fantastically well for his national team (New Zealand), and he needs to bring that form to the league,” Truter said.

“It is the same with Shaka (Mthembu). His main responsibility is to be a top striker for the team.”

Truter will be aiming to get back to winning ways following a draw with Royal AM when he takes on his former employers Swallows FC who are in the relegation zone, at the Dobsonville Stadium on May 3.
