Mpheni, Zizwe and Dikwena secure ABC League national playoffs spots
With the ABC Motsepe League reaching its climax, teams continue to qualify for the South African football third-tier national playoffs gunning for the GladAfrica Championship promotion.
This past weekend, we witnessed three teams cruising into the national playoffs after an exciting set of matches – producing all sorts of drama.
In Limpopo, Mpheni Home Defenders have been crowned Limpopo ABC Motsepe League champions after defeating Magesi FC 1-0 in the provincial playoffs at Giyani Stadium on Saturday.
Over to Western Cape, Zizwe United will represent the province at the national playoffs following their 4-3 win over FN Rangers on penalties in the provincial playoffs on Sunday. The showdown ended 2-2 after extra time.
Meanwhile, Dikwena United qualified for the national playoffs after beating Bloemfontein Celtic 2-1 in the Free State Motsepe League playoffs at Bethlehem Showground yesterday.
The three teams join the likes of MM Platinum (La Masia) of Gauteng and Dynamos Summerfield from KwaZulu-Natal, who has already secured their spots in the national playoffs.
