Mosimane gets boost with trio’s return Al Ahly’s trio
Pitso Mosimane got a major boost when the Al Ahly trio of Aliou Dieng, Yasser Ibrahim, and Hamdy Fathy returned to the team’s training sessions on Tuesday at El Tetsh Stadium after recovering from injuries.
Mosimane is preparing his charges for the Caf Champions League final against Wydad AC set for Casablanca on Monday next week.
Ibrahim participated in the team’s entire training session after performing a special recovery program to recover from his hamstring injury. At the same time, Malian midfielder Dieng rejoined the team’s full training sessions after recovering from the knock he picked up on his knee.
Moreover, Hamdy Fathy, our midfielder, took part in the team’s training after recovering from his groin injury.
Mosimane, who is chasing the third successive Champions League title, blamed the injuries on a congested fixture schedule.
“In England, they play a league of 20 teams and two cups, but the season ends, and they go on holiday before pre-season, and this is something that’s missing in Egypt,” said the South African mentor.
“Why do you think we have all these injuries? Hamdy Fathi, (Amr) El Sulya, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Yasser Ibrahim, Aliou Dieng and even Mohamed El Shenawy. I am confident that we will win the CAF Champions League. We won back to back titles in the past two years and 10 times in total.”
The final is set for the Stade Mohamed V Stadium in Casablanca. Kick-off is at 21h00.
