Simba part ways ways with coach Franco Martin

Tanzania Giants Simba have confirmed the departure of head coach Pablo Franco Martin with immediate effect.

This season has been described as the worst for Simba, with former board chairman and majority shareholder Mohammed Dewji suggesting that the club needs to revisit their strategy.

The results were not forthcoming for Martin, who trailed rivals Yanga by 13 points in the Liga Kuu Bara standings with five matches to play.

“Simba Sports Club has reached an agreement to mutually part ways with our Head Coach, Pablo Franco Martin,” the club said on Tuesday.

“We thank Coach Pablo for the success achieved during his tenure with the club where he won the Mapinduzi Cup and reached the quarterfinal of the CAF Confederation Cup.”

Selemani Matola has been appointed interim coach until the end of the season.

The club also announced that they have parted ways with fitness coach Daniel De Castro Reyes.
