Former TS Galaxy mentor appointed Mlambo’s new coach
Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League side Mlambo Royal Cubs have appointed former TS Galaxy mentor Vusi Mkhatshwa as the club’s new head coach.
This comes after the side parted company with its technical team a week ago. Coach Sunnyboy Mtakwende and his assistant coach Diale Sam were shown the exit following a string of poor results.
The duo had only taken charge of five games in the new campaign, including the Nedbank Cup qualification.
They managed to win two matches, drew one and lost two from those five matches in which they were in charge.
“Mlambo Royal Cubs is delighted to announce Vusi Mkhatshwa as the new head coach. It comes after Mlambo Royal Cubs parted ways with the previous coach last week,” said the club in a statement.
The new man in charge has already started his coaching duties with immediate effect as the team prepares for the weekend showdown.
Mkhatshwa previously coached teams such as Witbank Spurs, and Mbombela United, just to mention a few.
Currently, Mlambo are in the sixth position in Stream B of the provincial ABC League with one point from two outings.
Emawundlu Enkosi, as they are popularly known, will play their next league fixture on Saturday, 22 October, against Sibange Young Bucks at Embuzini Stadium.
The game is scheduled to start at 15:00.
Given Mkhatshwa’s extensive experience of the beautiful game, he will be expected to help the side to achieve its ultimate goal of qualifying for the South African football third-tier national playoffs and possibly get a promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship next season.

One of Mlambo’s fans commented: “All the best to Coach Vusi AKA Madala Mkhashwa and the Royal Cubs.
