AmaZulu, TS Galaxy settle for a draw

AmaZulu were held to a goalless draw at home to TS Galaxy in their DStv Premiership clash on Tuesday night.

It was the hosts who carved open the first real chance of the game after just seven minutes, as Melusi Buthelezi made a fantastic save from a promising header by Augustine Mulenga after he was spotted by Thembela Sikhakhane on the right-hand side.

On the other hand, the Rockets just kept getting further away from their goals.

With AmaZulu aiming to surge forward, Sead Ramovic’s men made sure that they shut the back door.

As the half-time whistle approached it was the Mpumalanga-based outfit who began to take a strong foothold in the game but failed to break through AmaZulu’s solid defence.

The showdown went into the interval with a 0-0 scoreline.

In the second stanza, ball possession was made useful, with both sides testing each other at goals.

As the half progressed, with the home side probing and stretching the game by using every inch of the pitch, it looked like they would break the deadlock but it was never meant to be.

However, Galaxy pulled an incisive play and plenty of balls into the box without any luck.

In the last minutes of the contest, the showpiece turned scrappy and congested as the teams looked to establish control in midfield.

The final whistle blew with nothing to separate both sides after the end-to-end second half at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
