Another match controversial abandoned in Limpopo

The circus within the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League is far from over as yet another League match was abandoned after a few minutes into the second half.

Promotion chasers Phinnet City walked off the pitch in the 70th minute after their opponents Mighty FC were awarded a penalty. The score was 1-1 at the time at Seshego Stadium.

They claim the referee was being biased towards their opponents, Mighty.

“They gave them a penalty which was not a penalty. The same thing that Magesi did to us so the players were very much angry and confronted the referee to understand the decision,” Phinnet owner Makgaba Letsoalo explained to FARPost.

“I think Mighty realized that I was not there and the shenanigans happened. I mean I played this mighty last season and the same thing happened; he scored a goal that was not even there. I think there is a cabal between mighty and other teams which I defiantly assume I know them but time will tell.

“These things of referees who think they can run our league is rubbish and nonsense and we can not allow it to happen,” he said.

This is not the first time Letsoalo and his club are involved in controversy. Towards the end of 2021 Letsoalo stormed into the pitch to call his players to abandon a league match after his opponent, Magesi were awarded a penalty in the match.
