Bafana Bafana AFCON dates and kickoff times confirmed

The dates and kickoff times for Bafana Bafana at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast have been revealed.

The 1996 CAF Afcon Champions were drawn in Group E alongside Tunisia, Mali and Namibia.

CAF on Friday released the official match schedule for the tournament following the Afcon draw in Abidjan last week. The Afcon will be played between 13 January to 24 February 2024.

The opening game will be between hosts Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau at Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium of Ebimpe, in Abidjan.

DATES AND KICKOFF TIMES FOR BAFANA BAFANA REVEALED

But the South Africans will kick off their tournament on Tuesday, 16 January against Mali at Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium. The kick-off time for that match is 20:00 GMT [22:00 SA time].

Their second group match will be against neighbours Namibia on Sunday, 21 January at 22:00 [SA Time]. They will take on Tunisia in their last group match on Wednesday, 24 January at 19:00 [SA time].

Bafana Bafana recently played to an impressive 1-1 draw against hosts Ivory Coast in Abidjan. They will take on Benin and Rwanda in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November before heading to Ivory Coast in January.
