A Banyana Banyana midfielder is set to leave her Italian club.

Upon her return from the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Morocco next month, South African star Refiloe Jane will be looking for a new home following her departure from AC Milan.

Italian publication SempreMilan reports that the 29-year-old has failed to reach an agreement for a new deal at the club, which lead to both parties deciding to part ways.

Jane joined the Rossoneri in June 2019 and went on to make over 50 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals in the process.

Although she helped the club reach the 2020/21 Italian Cup final, she leaves without winning any silverware.

It remains unclear where the anchor will be playing her football in the 2022/23 campaign, but reports suggest that several clubs in Europe have shown interest in her services.

She is part of a generation of South African female footballers who have managed to make moves to some of Europe’s most prominent clubs over the years.

Thembi Kgatlana has joined Atletico Madrid from SD Eibar, Jermaine Seoposenwe was recently in the books of SC Braga in Portugal, Linda Motlhalo stars for Djurgadens in Sweden, Noko Matlou is a regular starter for Eibar while Hildah Magaia recently made a move to South Korea.
