The TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Organising Committee have dismissed Tunisia’s appeal.

The Organising Committee met on Thursday to deliberate on the match between Tunisia and Mali which took place on Wednesday, 12 January.

This comes after Zambian referee Janny Sikazwe blew his whistle after 85 minutes and he realised he made a mistake, the game went on. However, he blew his whistle again at 89:48 minutes with no stoppage time.

After all the drama that unfolded in that game, the Tunisian side lodged a complaint as they wanted the match to be replayed.

After examining the protest of Tunisia and all the match officials report, the Organising Committee decided the following:

a) To dismiss the protest lodged by the Tunisian team.
b) To homologate the match result as 1-0 in favour of Mali.
