Chippa United have announced that they will retain the services of Kurt Lentjies as the club’s head coach until the end of the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season.
Lentjies, who was appointed by Chippa owner Siviwe Mpengesi to take over from the fired Gavin Hunt, will be assisted by Siyabulela Gwambi.
“In the technical department, the team has decided to retain Kurt Lentjies as assisted by Siyabulela Gwambi for the balance of the season, following an encouraging start to their tenure after the departure of coach Gavin Hunt,” said Chippa in a statement.
“The team will furthermore bolster the club with a few by mid-season player signings to be announced.”
Chippa, famous for their trigger-happy modus operandi, are three points away from the relegation zone in 12th place after 17 matches in the league.
Meanwhile, the Gqeberha-based club also confirmed that Sandiso Mpengesi has been appointed as the club’s general manager with immediate effect, replacing Roy Limongelli, who parted ways with the club. Lukanyo Mzinzi was promoted to the executive director of the club.
