Discarded Stellies defender resurfaces at PSL club

One of the senior players released by Stellenbosch at the end of last season has resurfaced at another PSL side.
Mark van Heerden on Wednesday started training with Cape Town City as he begins his search for a new club.

The 34-year-old spent the last two seasons at the Winelands club having joined them from AmaZulu in 2019.

With a top-flight career spanning over 17 years, the former Orlando Pirates left-back could bring in some experience as City play in the Caf Champions League.

The veteran defender is already a qualified football coach even before hanging up his boots. He acquired his C Licence with the Scottish Football Association (FA).
