Ex-Bucs star makes pledge as he starts life at Sekhukhune

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Linda Mntando who recently joined fellow DStv Premiership outfit Sekhukhune United has promised to be a hard working and a committed player on the field to help the team achieve their set goals.

Due to lack of game time with the Buccaneers, the 33-year-old called it time with the Soweto giants to look for greener pastures and more playing time.

“I’m here to play football, not promising anything, but 110% on the field, commitment and hard work so that is what I bring to the team, honest work on the field nothing less, nothing more. I just want to enjoy my football,” said Mntambo.

“I’m happy to have joined Sekhukhune United, Babina Noko. I’m here to add to what the team already has. I want to have a good season with the team, add on to the points that the team has accomplished in the past season. Hopefully we can get more points, turn our losses into draws, turn our draws into wins and get more wins, make our fans happy.”

“I just want to write my name on the history books of Babina Noko, make a statement and make sure I make myself happy, my family proud, the community I come from and above all the team. I want to do well individually, together as a team, I hope we achieve our goals we set together. I hope the season brings us nothing but happiness.”

Mntambo also revealed that he is settling well with his new team as they are gearing up for the next season.

“Thank you to the Chairman for giving me an opportunity to join the team, I’m quite happy even the reception from the coaches and the players has been warm and welcoming. I already feel at home, its my first day today, tough training session that we had, but I’m already at home, excited on my new journey, it’s a new chapter,” he concluded.
