Ghana side slap R5 million price tag on PSL-linked striker

Ghana side Ashanti Gold have slapped a hefty R5 million price tag on PSL-linked striker Yaw Annor.

The 24-year-old emerged as the goal king of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League with 22 goals, beating Asante Kotoko’s Franck Mbella, who has also been linked with a move to South Africa.

Annor is under contract with Ashanti Gold until June 2023, but he may be forced to leave due to the club’s demotion to Division Two League over match-fixing.

He began his career at Bechem United, where he won the 2016 MTN FA Cup. He left the club for Spain but struggled there, forcing him to return to Bechem permanently in 2020. In 2021, Ashgold acquired him for the Hunters.

The frontman is ranked eighth in the World for most goals scored in 2022.
