Ghanaian youngster joins German giants

Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of a Dutch-born Ghanaian youngster.

Prince Aning has completed a move from Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam to the German side who are known for recruiting the best talents into their academy set-up.

The 18-year-old signed a four-year deal to join the club’s under 23 team and will work closely with Ghanaian coach Otto Addo, who is a talent developer at the club.

Aning is one of the highly-rated left-backs in European football and he will be looking to impress with the reserves in order to get a chance in the first team.

The youngster first caught the attention of the Yellow and Blacks when Dortmund’s youth team played Ajax’s under 18 in January.

“We’ve been in talks for a long time and are happy that the transfer worked out. Prince Aning is an exceptional player with a strong left foot,” Dortmund’s sporting director Ingo Preuss explained.

Born in the Netherlands, Aning’s parents are both from Ghana – he has represented Holland at under 18 level.

He becomes the ninth signing by new under coach Christian Preusser.
