The Hollywoodbets Super League produced a total of 30 goals to start off the new season on a bang at the weekend.
Saturday’s five matches produced 22 goals, while two games on Sunday saw eight goals being scored.
Defending Champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, JVW Girls, UWC Ladies and Bloem Celtic Ladies claimed big wins, while debutants CR Vasco Da Gama and City Lads Ladies playing their first official matches of the campaign following their promotion from the Sasol League, suffered defeats.
Only two teams failed to find the back of the net – Coal City Wizards and the Tsunami Queens as all the encounters produced winners.
Downs Ladies narrowly beat Ma-Indies 2-1 to start their title off to a good note at the Giyani Stadium on Sunday. Earlier on at the same venue, First Touch Ladies hammered Tsunami Queens 5-0.
Celtic Ladies opened their 2022 campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ga Gama, while UWC Ladies also beat City Lads Ladies with the same scoreline.
JVW were the biggest winners as they thrashed Richmond United 10-2 at the Wits Stadium.
The Durban Ladies and TUT Ladies clash was postponed due to the KwaZulu-Natal disaster.
