Harit set for Marseille stay

A North African star is set to stay in France after a successful loan.

Following Schalke’s relegation to the 2. Bundesliga last season, Moroccan attacking midfielder Amine Harit opted to move to French side Olympique Marseille at the start of the 2021/22 campaign to continue playing top-flight football.

The 25-year-old had a slow start to the season, but a strong finish saw him score four Ligue 1 goals and assist a further four strikes in 23 outings for The Olympians who finished in second position on the table with 71 points from 38 games – 15 points behind champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Marseille have reportedly already contacted Schalke for the signature of the charismatic wizard who rose into prominence at French club FC Nantes before moving to Germany in 2017.

Born in France to Moroccan parents, he represented France at youth level, but switched to Morocco at senior levels.

He has featured in 14 international games for the Atlers Lions without scoring a goal.
