TS Galaxy have announced the signing of midfielder, Lefa Hlongwane.

He joins The Rockets on a three-year deal. He was a free agent after parting ways with Maritzburg United.

“We are very happy to be joined by Lefa Hlongwane. He is one of the most talented offensive players in the country. He will certainly boast our attacking play and we look forward to his successful stay at our club,” read the club statement.

Galaxy further stated that the 28-year-old has been training with the club before the festive holidays but “couldn’t feature because of the Fifa rules”. Hlongwane left Maritzburg when the transfer window was closed and had to wait until the January transfer opened.

Meanwhile, the side’s head coach Sead Ramovic added: “Lefa is an extremely talented midfielder. I’ve had the pleasure of working with him.

“He will add value to our team. He is very creative and skilful. He now understands what we want from him.”

Hlongwane also expressed his excitement after signing his contract with the Mpumalanga-based outfit and noted that he cannot wait to rock the colours of Galaxy. “I’m excited to be part of this growing club and looking forward to making an instant impact. I’ve had the pleasure of working with my new teammates. They have welcomed me with open arms. The mission now is to help the club collect points,” Hlongwane stated.
