Swallows failed to move away from the relegation zone following a 1-1 draw against Marumo Gallants at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Ruzaigh Gamildien opened the scoring for the visitors as early as the second minute.

But Katlego Otladisa found an equaliser for the home side in the 21st minute.

The result leaves Swallows second from bottom on the DStv Premiership with 20 points, two above bottom placed Baroka.

Marumo on the other hand remain 11th with 30 points, four within a top eight spot.

Meanwhile, Chippa United picked up their first home win when they edged Stellenbosch 1-0 at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in East London.

The Chilli Boys got their solitary goal through a Sammy Seabi cracker from distance in the 74th minute.

The win moves them to 12th place with five games to go before the curtain comes down on the league. The Eastern Cape side has collected 25 points from 25 games.
