Tanzanian giants Simba secured a 1-0 victory in the first leg of the CAF Confederations Cup quarterfinal against Orlando Pirates at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sunday evening.

Shomari Kapombe scored the only goal of the match via a penalty kick in the 68th minute.

Simba take a 1-0 advantage going into the second leg scheduled for Sunday, 24 April at Orlando Stadium.

A draw or win for the Tanzanian side will secure them a place in the last four of the competition while the Buccaneers will require nothing but a win infront of their home spectators, if they are to advance to the semifinals.
