Qatar Stars League side Al-Rayyan SC are reportedly monitoring the contractual situation of Pitso Mosimane at Al Ahly.
Mosimane’s contact with the Cairo giants is set to expire at the end of the 2021/22 season, and he is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract.
Despite his success at Al Ahly with back-to-back Caf Champions League titles and consecutive Caf Super Cups and a bronze medal at the Fifa Club World Cup, Mosimane and the Egyptian giants have yet to agree on a contract extension.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana coach stated that he is eager to stay in Cairo, but it has been reported that several clubs in the Middle East are looking to acquire his services.
Kuwaiti daily newspaper, Al-Anba, claims that mega-rich Qatari outfit Al-Rayyan are a great admirer of Mosimane and will await any developments regarding the contract negotiations.
The club wants Mosimane to replace former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and France coach Laurent Blanc following a series of poor results in the league.
Al-Rayyan have the likes of James Rodríguez and Steven Nzonzi at their disposal. Still, they find themselves in unfamiliar territory in seventh place on the log standings, six points away from the relegation zone.
