Coaches in the Cosafa region, Southern Africa, will receive expert coaching from some of the leading tactical minds in Spain.
It will be the second year Cosafa, in partnership with La Liga, hosts a Masterclass workshop for coaches in the region in a series of online sessions to help “broaden their knowledge base in the latest trends in the game.”
According to Cosafa, there will also be sessions for grassroots coaches around the Cosafa Zone to assist them in their journey and growth in football.
In attendance will be Banyana Banyana head coach Desiree Ellis, Bafana Bafana assistant coach Helman Mkhalele, Swallows tactician Dylan Kerr, and the Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies duo of Jerry Tshabalala and Agnes Nkosi.
In a statement, Cosafa said: “The coaches leading the sessions include Saúl Vázquez, LaLiga’s Senior Specialist in Football Programs Development, RCD Espanyol Football Director Francisco Rufete, LaLiga’s Football Projects Coordinator Carlos Casal and CD Alavés Deputy Academy Director Francisco Pérez.
“Topics which will be covered and discussed include building a task progression for a game model, individual player evaluation processes, data analysis applied to football, and the training process in a professional academy.”
The dates for the coaching workshop will be communicated in due course.
