Dylan Kerr set to return to dugout against AmaZulu

Swallows FC coach Dylan Kerr is expected to take charge of his first match for the club this season when they host AmaZulu FC on Friday for the DStv Premiership.

This comes after his work permit was issued on Monday after a few weeks of pending status. The delay left Dylan Kerr frustrated on the sidelines.

Swallows chairman David Mogashoa confirmed the good news on his Twitter account on Monday afternoon.

In the past three games, the team has been in the safe hands of player-coach Musa Nyatama, as the Malta-born coach was watching and delegating instructions from the stands.

AmaSwaiSwai have collected four points so far in the matches they have played. They suffered a 1-0 loss to Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates, defeated out-of-form Cape Town City 3-2 and drew nil all against winless Maritzburg United.

The 55-year-old will be banking on the club’s six new signings [Thato Makua, Thakasani Mbanjwa, Lindokuhle Mtshali, Keegan Allan, Waseem Issacs and Tshediso Patjie] for success and to help the team finish in a better high position.

In the previous season, the Dube Birds finished 15th on the log and settled for PSL Promotion/Relegation playoffs. They managed to save their DStv Premiership status on the last day of the playoffs, coming out on top above University of Pretoria and Cape Town All Stars.

Heading to his first game in the hot seat, the former TTM coach will be hoping for a positive start and to end AmaZulu’s dominance over them. On the other hand, Brandon Truter and his troops are eyeing back-to-back wins for the first time this season after defeating Cape Town City 2-1 last time out.

The last time the two sides met in May, Usuthu emerged victorious winning the encounter 1-0. Kickoff at Dobsonville Stadium on Friday is a 19:30.
