Booysen joins WC ABC Motsepe League side

Former Ajax Cape Town and Kaizer Chiefs defender Mario Booysen has found a new home at the Western Cape ABC Motsepe League side, Claremont JPM FC.

The 36-year-old centre-back was the captain of the team in their league clash against Gansbaai City FC, whom they defeated 6-1 over the weekend.

Booysen was last in the books of the KwaZulu-Natal club AmaZulu FC after leaving Chiefs back in August 2019.

It goes without saying that Booysen is one of the strongest defenders with good aerial ability, and age shows no signs of slowing him down.

His phenomenal tactical intelligence and knowledge of the game, as well as an excellent positional sense, makes him stand out.

The Cape Town-born footballer also represented the likes of SuperSport United, Mamelodi Sundowns, Bloemfontein Celtic and Maritzburg United.

Given his extensive experience of the beautiful game, he’s expected to lead the South African football third-tier outfit with aplomb and help them to challenge for promotion to the GladAfrica Championship.
