CT City sign Mogamat May

Cape Town City have enlisted the services of the striker, Mogamat May.

The 23-year-old joins the ‘Citizens’ from Hanover Park FC which competes in the Regional League (SAFA Cape Town).

‘Mo’, as he is affectionately known, has found the back of the net on 13 occasions in 10 appearances for Hanover in the current campaign.

The volume of goals that he scores is what sets him apart from others. He is actually the perfect all-round striker that one can rely on.

The rising star has also represented teams such as The Magic, Steenburg United and the now-defunct Ajax Cape Town.

“Cape Town City is delighted to announce the signing of 23-year-old South African striker Mogamat May,” read the club’s statement.

“Another local gem, welcome to the big league Mo!”

Meanwhile, the club’s mentor Eric Tinkler is very complimentary towards his new signee who he thinks is destined for greatness.

“He’s a natural goalscorer from what I’ve seen. He’s got a lot of pace and power, so I think he’s a good acquisition for us in the striking department. Playing for Hanover Park, having a very very good season scoring 13 goals and 9 assists in 10 games,” said Tinkler.

“He came to us on trial and did exactly that, scoring a lot of goals in training and friendly matches – so obviously that generated the interest and a bit of a no brainer for us to sign him.”
