Daniels eyeing back-to-back wins over Stellies

Maritzburg United defender Clayton Daniels has urged his teammates to emulate the same spirit they produced last time when they ended Royal AM’s 10-game unbeaten run, emerging as 1-0 winners to claim KZN Derby bragging rights ahead of their Saturday’s DStv Premiership tie against Stellenbosch.

The much-needed three points gave the Team of Choice a breather to break away from the relegation zone, raising them to 12th on the log standings with 27 points. “We have to continue where we left off. We had a good result against Royal AM. A really spirited performance from the guys. We look forward to another tough game away from home,” Daniels said.

“We are looking forward to an exciting game; I hope the guys will bring the A-game again and go for three points.”The 37-year-old experienced centre-back warned his teammates to be aware of Stellies attackers.

“We are playing away from home; we know how they play with the speed at the front. They have Dean van Rooyen and other guys,” Daniels added. Kick-off at Danie Craven Stadium is at 17:00.
