Ex-Chiefs midfielder finds new home

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Kearyn Baccus has signed with the Australian side MacArthur FC on a two-year deal.

Baccus recently parted ways with the Soweto giants, having featured in 46 matches, contributing four assists and scoring two goals in the process.

The ex-Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne City man expressed his excitement about his return to Australia and to be working under Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke, who is the new Macarthur head coach.

“I’m excited to be here and start a new challenge with this club,” the 30-year-old footballer told the club’s media.

“I’m from this area, so I’m looking forward to being back here and getting started with the new coaches and my new teammates.

“With the new appointment of Dwight to the club, I think it’s an exciting time for the club and for us players to learn from his experience at such a high level. I think the team is moulding to be a great one and I believe if we work together, we will do really well in the competition.”
