Graham urges Maritzburg to approach TS Galaxy with right mentality

Maritzburg United midfielder Travis Graham has admitted his side’s trip to Mpumalanga on Saturday is a massive clash for both teams in the fight to steer away from the relegation zone.

The two clubs occupy position 13 and 14, only separated by a point as the Team of Choice has amassed 23 points off 25 games while Galaxy have 22. Swallows, who are 15th, have collected 20 points, while Baroka, perched at the table’s basement, has 18, which means Galaxy and Maritzburg still need to scurry for safety.

Graham has warned his teammates to approach the tie as a united front to emerge victoriously. On Saturday, victory for either side will be an essential step away from the relegation zone.

“Physically, we are prepared. For us, we have to play for the badge. It is not easy looking at the teams below us. What will make us win is looking at the club’s name. We have to help each other like brothers,” Graham said.

The 28-year-old believes that the match will be a battle of mentality. “I don’t think their home advantage will be a big factor. They are also under pressure. Whoever wins the game mentally will come out with a victory.” Kick-off at Mbombela Stadium is at 15:00.
