JDR sign NWU Soccer Institute star

North West ABC Motsepe League side NWU Soccer Institute have confirmed that Banele Hlope has joined GladAfrica Championship outfit JDR Stars.

Banele joins a list of NWU Soccer Institute graduates that have signed for professional clubs in South Africa.

The 23-year-old is expected to bring balance and fluidity to the club’s midfield unit and give head coach Nditsheni Nemasisi more options for the rest of the season and beyond.

“I’m grateful to have played for the NWU Soccer Institute, they gave me the opportunity to be an academic and footballer at the same time,” said Hlope.

“I have joined JDR at the perfect time having completed my degree and that’s how great God’s timing is.”

JDR are in a good position to gain automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership as they are currently placed second in the GladAfrica standings and level on points (32) with log leaders Richards Bay. Only goal difference separates the two teams.
