Major blow for Percy Tau

South Africa international Percy Tau has been ruled out for one month after tearing his anterior muscle.

Al Ahly are preparing to face Pyramids FC in the quarter-final of the 2020/21 Egyptian Cup, a game that has been delayed since last season.

However, their preparations have been dealt a huge blow after Percy Tau has felt discomfort in his anterior muscle, which has been later confirmed to be a tear.

As a result, Tau has been ruled out from the game and will be absent for at least one month, as revealed by Ahly’s medical doctor Ahmed Abo Abla.

The 28-year-old has been going through a difficult couple of months with the Reds, having not scored or assisted in the domestic competitions since November 2021.

Overall, Tau scored eight goals and provided six assists in 28 games across all competitions, helping the team to win the Caf Super Cup and reach the Caf Champions League final.
