Mhlangana to lead Bizana Pondo Chiefs

Following the departure of coach Tshepo Motsoaneng to Sinenkani FC, Bizana Pondo Chiefs have decided that Odwa Mhlangana will take over as the club’s interim head coach.

Coach Mhlangana will be assisted by Siyabonga Nzimande, while the club is still in search of a new coach.

The side stated that a mutual agreement was reached for the coach to leave as his experience is required at Sinenkani.

“There is nothing wrong with Bizana Pondo Chiefs, the decision to join Sinenkani was motivated and agreed to by the two Chairmans in which they engaged me and I agreed,” said the departed Motsoaneng.

“We have a chance of winning the ABC Motsepe and leading the team to the National Playoffs in which my experience will contribute a lot to the team success given the time of the season.

“I will forever be grateful to the Chairmans and Management of Bizana Pondo Chiefs.”

Meanwhile, Bizana Pondo wished Motsoaneng all the best in his new chapter: “The Lions of Skomplaz would like to wish Coach Tshepo Motsoeneng success in his endeavours as he leaves Bizana Pondo Chiefs to Sinenkani FC.”

The club is currently placed second in the Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League Stream A with 17 points, eight points behind Stream leaders SA Spear of the Nation.

Bizana Pondo’s next assignment will be against Highbury FC on Saturday, 5 February at MT Ayliff Stadium at 15:00 in the afternoon.
