Ria supporters give SAFA Capricorn 4pm ultimatum

The group of football supporters ‘representing SAFA Capricorn Region LFAs’ have vowed to make life difficult for the regional leaders if they don’t respond to their demands by Thursday 16:00.

The group led by former SAFA NEC member Abel Rakoma as well as former soccer players Andrew Rabutla, Dukes Machaka and Jackie Ledwaba submitted a memorandum at the region’s offices in Polokwane on Wednesday.

The group wants 1. Regional Chairperson Jacky Mogashoa to step down from his role. 2. The region collectively being clubs and LFAs support the candidature of Ria Ledwaba for the SAFA Presidency. 3. All LFA leaders need to publicly come clear in support of Ria Ledwaba. 4. The regional delegation to the SAFA National elective congress excludes Chairman Jacky Mogashoa and secretary Malesela Mosotho.

Rakoma who is heading the campaign for Ledwaba in Limpopo alongside another ousted SAFA leader Eric Muneri, has promised to shut down the regional offices

“I think the office will be closed, the memorandum was actually very explicit that the office will be closed (if their demands are not met), that’s what they said,” Rakoma told the media.

“They must meet, we hope that they will convene the REC and once they convene the REC then they will then take a particular position. Because what is important is that if they can not do anything it means they are also complicit.

“Because we have it on good authority that about three LFAs nominated Ria. It is only that the man with power diverted the nomination so I am saying the REC must actually stand up. If they don’t they will actually be complicit and therefore we will be able to deal with them in that particular complicit way,” he said.

FARPost has gathered that the region’s executive committee is divided on whether to meet and discuss the memorandum or ignore it. As it stands they are scheduled to meet at 16:00 at their offices.
