The 2021 edition of the Sasol League National Championships will be staged at King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban from 7-13 February 2022.
The tournament was initially scheduled for December last year but was postponed due to the rising number of positive cases of the Omicron variant last year.
And as a precaution against the spread of Covid-19, the National championships will be played behind closed doors. ‘’As per our laid down regulations, no spectators will be allowed to attend the Sasol League playoffs tournament,” said the SA Football Association (Safa) Chief Medical Officer, Dr Thulani Ngwenya.
“This is to guard against the possible spread of Covid-19, which normally spread fast during big events. Football fans, however, will be able to watch the semi-finals and final on SABC Sport on 11 and 13 February 2022.”
The competition is played by the nine Provincial winners of the Sasol League. The two top teams (finalists) will gain promotion to the Hollywoodbets Super League for f the 2022 season.
