Southampton make decision on South African star

Southampton are looking to loan out one of their promising young players.

After putting pen to paper on a new two-year deal at the English Premier League club, Kgaogelo Chauke might be spending the upcoming season at a lower division side as he looks to play more first team football.

The 19-year-old has already made his senior debut playing 78 minutes in a FA Cup victory against Shrewsbury Town last season, but he is yet to feature in the Premier League despite making the bench several times last season.

The reserve team captain made 21 Premier League 2 appearances for the Young Saints and scored one goal in the process.

A product of FC Thatcham, the central midfielder joined The Saints in 2017 and he has been rising through the club’s ranks to become one of the most valued young players in the academy.
