Thobejane aiming for a double over Galaxy

Baroka head coach Kgoloko Thobejane says they are going all out in their Nedbank Cup match against TS Galaxy on their pursuit for a second silverware.

Bakgaga will travel to Mbombela on Sunday for the last 16 encounter.

Despite fighting for survival in the league, Thobejane insists it is also important for the club to atleast finish a season with a trophy.

“Of course, they (Galaxy) would want to win against us because they can’t allow us to beat them twice, but we are ready to beat them twice in a row,” said Thobejane referring to the 1-0 win in the League last Saturday.

“The boys are ready; it is just that we had some few changes there and there because of injuries and suspensions. (Basil) Mphahlele is out, so we will bring in (Sydney) Maliba and Sipho Maluleke.

“(Oscarine) Masuluke is also missing because of the death of his grandmother, but we are ready. The Cup game is important like any other game; the importance of it is, as you see sometimes we are not consistent, so it will give us that game time to also try new combinations. But also we want to win silverware, it’s very important,” he added.

Thobejane says he personally wants to win his first silverware as a head coach.

“It would be very important for my development because in football we are not just here to stay at one place. So for me an achievement is also very important.”
