TS Galaxy’s Ramovic banking on newly signed duo for success

TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic will be banking on the experienced duo of Sbusiso Vilakazo and Xola Mlambo in his quest for success this season. He is confident the two can help the team attain their goals and objectives come end of the season.

Vilakazi and Mlambo joined the Rockets during the current transfer window. The duo was shown the exit by Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu, respectively, after opting not to extend the players’ contracts.

‘Vila’ made his debut for the Mpumalanga outfit on Sunday in a nil-all draw against AmaZulu, while Mlambo is in line to make his first appearance on Wednesday evening when they face Mamelodi Sundowns. He missed the season opener against his former club due to suspension.

“I know Villa [Sbusiso Vilakazi] and Xola [Mlambo] they are professional guys, and they will work on their fitness because these are the only additions which can help us to make our goal come through,” Ramovic told the media.

“It is [a boost to have them] because Vila is a good player. He has a lot of quality but wasn’t here in the preseason with some injuries, so you can see the fitness regarding the match is not there.”

The Serbian further knows that the encounter against five-time straight winning DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns is difficult. He, however, feels they are well prepared for the encounter, and if the players master the tactics to the Tee, a victory is possible.

“Sundowns is the benchmark in the league, we have to prepare ourselves, and we will. In the end, we should win.”

“It’s a team that plays positional football and like to play behind defenders like deep pass, and they are great on this. This is their quality. I think we should try to control their space in compact structure and to give them a tough time and see what in the end will happen,” he added.

Kickoff at Loftus Versfeld is at 19h30.
