Former African champions Mamelodi Sundowns have officially announced the signing of South American star Erwin Saavedra.
Bolivia international penned a two-year contract with Sundowns, who gave the Saavedra a warm welcome at OR Tambo International airport on Wednesday.
Saavedra, 25, joins the Tshwane giants from Club Bolivar, where he played 93 matches, scoring 23 goals and providing 20 assists.
Upon his departure from Bolivia, Saavedra said: “I am the perfect age to be able to go out, and I must take advantage of it. I think that these things do not happen very often and I hope that everything goes well.
“My contract is for two and a half years, but if the club wants, it can be extended for another two more.
“I want to continue growing as a footballer and as a person, take advantage of it, enjoy myself, and I hope that later on, more players will go abroad.”
