We are serious about getting promotion – Ferreira

GladAfrica Championship rockies Venda Football Academy (VFA) have jumped to third on the league log and only two points behind log leaders Richards Bay with 12 matches to go.

This follows a hard fought 3-2 win over Limpopo rivals Polokwane City at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

VFA have shown their intentions clear of gaining promotion to the DStv Premiership but head coach Johnny Ferreira has cautioned everyone within the club not to get ahead of themselves.

“We want to go all the way, this club is very serious about getting promoted,” Ferreira told FARPost.

“It just seems like we are picking at the right time and all the teams above us must come and play in Thohoyandou and it’s not easy, we make it very difficult for teams here.

“So, it’s all systems go, but we won’t allow ourselves to get ahead of ourselves and become arrogant and big-headed. We will make sure that everybody’s feet are on the ground and just take it game by game,” he said.
