Why Ndlondlo’s AmaZulu transfer collapsed

Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo’s agent Benjee Nkhato has revealed why his client’s move to AmaZulu fell through, writes Clifton Mabasa.

The player came very close to joining Usuthu ahead of the coming season before the deal collapsed. The 26-year-old playmaker had also been linked to three other clubs.

Nonetheless, Usuthu were leading the race for his signature, with the talks said to be at an advanced stage at some point.

Nkhato insists that the deal collapsed after the two clubs failed to reach common ground regarding the transfer fee.

“No, AmaZulu could not afford the transfer fee that Marumo Gallants was demanding,” a source confirmed to FARPost.

A more diplomatic Nkhato said: “The two clubs were very close to closing the deal. Unfortunately, they could not reach an amicable full and final settlement.”

He added that they were still in talks with other interested clubs and is confident a deal will be concluded before the transfer window closes.

“So we are working on other deals, and we will communicate if there is anything that materialises before the close of the transfer window.”

Nldondlo, whose Gallants side are heading to the CAF Confederations Cup next season, has scored nine goals, in 34 appearances for the Limpopo outfit last season in all competitions. He was one of the club’s standout players last season.
