Arrows interim coach Vilakazi eager to fix leaky defence

Golden Arrows interim coach Vusimuzi Vilakazi is aware of the predicament that his team faces and has vowed to solve his team’s defensive frailties to finish the season strong.

Arrows were thumped 6-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns leading to the axing of Lehlohonolo Seema recently.
Vilakazi was appointed to hold the fort until the end of the season and he has admitted that he needs to address the defensive frailties.

Arrows play Sekhukhune on Saturday at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban. Kick-off is at 15:00.
“We’ve been preparing accordingly with coach Mabhuti Khenyeza focusing on certain aspects of our game specifically defensive structure. We are coming from a loss where we conceded six goals against Mamelodi Sundowns,” Vilakazi told the media.

“It’s a worrying factor for us because, in order for you to win the game, you must be strong defensively. So we’ve been working on our defence throughout the week.”

Vilakazi praised his team for showing willingness and support describing the atmosphere in training as good.
“The atmosphere is looking good, players are looking refreshed, the team is trying to find itself. We’re happy about the response of the players, they are looking very well, hungry for an opportunity ahead of them,” Vilakazi added.
