CT City’s Mashego confident of taking Chiefs scalp

Cape Town City defender Terrence Mashego has insisted that his side will go all out for a win when they host Kaizer Chiefs in Tuesday’s DStv Premiership clash at the Cape Town Stadium (19:00).

Both sides are still licking their wounds following defeats in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 at the weekend. CT City lost 2-1 against Royal AM, while Chiefs suffered a shock 1-0 loss at the hands of TS Galaxy.

Mashego is confident that they can inflict more pain on Amakhosi.  “We’re playing at home, so we have to collect maximum points, considering that we just lost the game in the Nedbank Cup,” he said.

“So now it’s time for us to shift the focus to the league and make sure that we find ourselves in a better position. I know Kaizer Chiefs is a strong side, they have a strong team, and it’s not an easy team to beat.

“But we have to make sure that we collect maximum points because we’re playing at home. It’s our home game. We have to build up from the game on Saturday to this game.”

The Bafana Bafana left-back added: “We lost, but we didn’t have a bad game at all; I mean, we played very well; we just need to convert our chances and also make sure that defensively we don’t concede goals.”
